Let Your Light Shine

by Marci on April 13, 2010

As Christian bloggers, we have the opportunity to preach the gospel to those who may never have set foot in a church.  Our potential reach is a little staggering if you think about it.  Now, don’t get stressed and worried about letting Christ down if you  don’t host a bible study each week on your blog or offer some great spiritual insights on a regular basis.  Whether we write about food, parenting, creating, decorating or about the life of our family, we can let Christ’s love shine through our blogs.

The bible says we are to be the salt and light to the world.  As salt, we are to preserve our Christian values, add flavor to life and offer hope.  As light, we are to be a beacon in this dark world.  We don’t have to be a preacher or teacher.  We just have to do what God calls us to do, and when we do, let our light shine.

Think of that each time your write a post.  Are you writing what God wants you to write?  Does your post preserve and uphold our Christian values?  Is your light shining?  I am reminded of a sermon I heard once in which the preacher asked “If you were on trial for being a Christian, would there be enough evidence to convict you?“  Is  your blog enough to convict you?

Keep the faith, friends. Don’t lose sight of the big picture. I read the end of the book. We win.

Wow! I love this Marci! So true. I have to ask myself those questions everytime. And really I think that is the same thing with Social Media. When your posting a status, is it something God would want you to post? And so on. :) Love it!

Thank you for the encouragement. I am working at being sensitive to the Spirit and hearing what He is telling me.

Sometime I think this is why I have a few days without a post on my Girlfriends blog. I don’t want to force the writing. I try to wait until something happens or I feel that God is laying something on my heart. Thanks Marci!

“Is your blog enough to convict you?”

GREAT question!!

It’s exciting to think of what God could do through an army of committed Christian bloggers willing to speak Truth!

So well put. It is a much needed reminder, as it is easy to get distracted from the mission. Thanks!
