God At Work In The Blogging World

by Erin M. on March 24, 2010

I’ve been blogging about our family since August 2008.  Yes, faith is a big part of our family, so it got thrown in there as well.  But I wasn’t really listening for what God wanted me to say on there.  Until the beginning of this year.  One night, I lay in bed praying and asked God what He wanted for this little blog of mine.

Make it Mine.

Hmm. I guess I always talked about God being in every part of my life, but I wasn’t really inviting Him into the blog and letting Him work like He really could.  That night, the ideas started pouring in.  Ideas from Him, ideas close to my heart and challenging to me.  I started writing these posts.  I was very excited, but also nervous.

What if I wrote this super-spiritual post (compared to what I was writing), and no one read it or commented?  What if it was something people had heard a million times already and they were bored with it?

So I asked several friends to proofread it, hoping they would tell me if it stunk.  But they loved it.  And I knew the other feelings were from the enemy.  So I posted one.  And then another.  And do you know what happened?

Readers commented.  Some comments that brought me to tears – people that needed to hear that word from God at that very moment, women going through the same experience, readers blessing me with their responses.

And that is God at work in the blogging world.

It wasn’t me or my own talents, but my decision to give this blog to Him that He used.  In that obedience, I was blessed.

Isn’t it beautiful when you allow Him to use you through your blog! It sounds like there is a lot of this going around the community right now. Erin, all of your communication online and your blog (Home With the Boys) has shown that you have allowed Him to you use you! Thank you for that!

Erin – this is so inspiring! Not only your obedience to God, but this new website collaboration. God is definitely at work in social media. I’ve been blogging for over 4 years and the same thing happened to me. God told me to tell my story. Slowly but surely in HIS perfect timing folks are reading His-Story.

Keep it up! I’m excited to get to know all your other blogging buddies here who are gathered in spirit.
